Hi All,
It's time for the schutzhund community to pull together. I realize that some of you know about this already. Al Govednik, the president of AWDF to which DVG America is a member, sent a message today asking for our help. There is an attempt to ban schutzhund in Austria. While that seems remote to us, whatever happens in one of our schutzhund community's countries, can happen here. What we are being asked to do is go to a website and add our names to the growing list of those opposed to this ban. I just did this and was the 3818th person to do so.
Michelle Testa, AWDF secretary, sent out this translation of what we're signing and the information that you need to enter.
The petition loosely says: "I, the undersigned, know Sportschutz from my own private or professional experience. I do not recognize any heightened danger to the public through this training and therefore am against a law that prohibits a sport that has been in existence for approximately 100 yrs."
Please fill in the required information: Vorname=First Name; Nachname=Last Naem; Straße=Street; Plz= zip code; Ort=City/Town And then click on the "Absenden" button to submit your support. It really takes a couple of minutes, tops.
It would be great if we could help bump that number up before the vote on March 26th. Please send and/or post this information to any of your lists, clubs, friends and family. We don't want this type of movement picking up steam, so we need to support our fellow schutzhunders in Austria now. Thanks in advance!
